Whoever gives an honest answer kisses the lips (Proverbs 24:26). Honesty really is the best policy. Often, we are tempted to try to seek unfair gain from a situation or seek to remove ourselves from penalty by shading the truth. God expresses His displeasure with such attitudes and demands that His people maintain integrity so that “their yes is yes and their no is no.” Take time this week to evaluate your dealings with others. Are you honest in your family and work relationships? Are you proving to be a godly example of honesty and trust? While the consequences of honesty may sometimes be difficult in the short-term, God promises great things for those who remake themselves in His image. Honestly!
