The Same Standard

Have you noticed the turmoil that exists in the religious world today?  There are many different and conflicting religious systems, doctrines, and practices.  This does not come from the Bible — God is not the author of this confusion (1 Cor. 14:33). 

Is Primitivism Still Relevant?

While this method of seeking authority has never been mainstream, recent years have seen some of its former advocates dismiss the approach. CENI (command, example, necessary inference), the term to which some have relegated the idea, is viewed as unsustainable. Instead, some who once sought authority in this way have moved on to the second philosophy of adaptation. Such a move beckons the following question: “Is primitivism still relevant?”

And God

A word is a wonderful thing. Words are often aptly defined as vehicles of thought. Technically, they are a speech sound which has meaning attached to it. So strong is the word attached to the thing it represents that we cannot separate the two. Some have called words signs of ideas—and so they are. They represent something. They are not actually that thing, but they represent it so closely you cannot think of the thing without using the sign that represents it.

Time

When one becomes a Christian, the concept of time changes and produces a rather oxymoronic situation: While there is a keen knowledge that the grave is coming and that every opportunity in this life should be seized for God’s glory, there is also the realization that the people of God have transitioned to eternal life.
