God the Ultimate Designer

Evolutionists are flooding into courtrooms to stop the antics of evil creationists! Some school systems in our nation have recently decided that the mentioning of intelligent design as a viable option to the general theory of evolution is a good idea. One school system actually placed the following disclaimer on ninth-grade biology textbooks: Evolution is a theory, not a fact, regarding the origin of living things. This material should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully, and critically considered.

Supporters of evolution are apparently infuriated by such statements and have resorted to legal means to stamp out blatant religious fanaticism. Perish the thought that students might be reminded that the general theory of evolution is just that a theory, not an established fact! Imagine the audacity of any school system which encourages students to have an open mind, study carefully and be analytical in their thinking! What if they begin asking questions?? Embarrassing questions, like, for instance, Where are all those transitional forms that Darwins theory demands? Or maybe they will begin asking questions like Doesnt your theory of evolution demand that the law of biogenesis isnt really always true? We just cant have young minds thinking for themselves; they are supposed to blindly accept whatever their science teachers tell them about the origin of the world and all living things.

Some members of the scientific community like to look down their noses at us laypersons. We just arent smart enough to understand their arguments for evolution or even willing to consider such evidence. Now students are being encouraged to approach the theory of evolution with an open mind and evolutionists are apoplectic! Apparently, open-mindedness is defined as walking in lock-step with the evolutionists.

What is this new evil being introduced into the public school systems? One writer suggested that the intelligent-design theory was first advanced in the 1980s. Actually, the intelligent design theory has been around for a much longer time, but was previously known as the teleological argument. This argument suggests that there is design in the universe and therefore a designer must exist. The complexity of the organization and design in our world would require an intelligent designer.

Dr. J. David Pleins, professor of religious studies at Santa Clara University, wrote, The latest craze called intelligent design trumpets ideas that were long ago discarded, and for good reason. The ongoing legal controversies regarding the teaching of intelligent design belies Dr. Pleins affirmation. The intelligent design theory has not been discarded; in fact, the more we learn about our world, the more design and complexity becomes evident. The argument just keeps getting stronger!

Dr. Pleins is very critical of creation science, but the intelligent design theory represents an attempt to interpret scientific evidence, an explanation for the facts of science. The general theory of evolution constitutes exactly the same thing an interpretation of the evidence at hand. Many evolutionists do not like the idea of an intelligent designer, i.e., God; they prefer the capricious gods of Time and Chance!
