THE SUPREME VALUE IN LIFE
“I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith….” (Phil 3:8-9).
Paul gave up all to gain all that really matters in time and eternity – the saving knowlege of the Lord Jesus. He alone as the Savior and Redeemer of our souls. Christ must be valued above all or not at all. How well do we know Christ? Do we seek to ever draw closer to Him and walk with Him?
“To live is Christ and to die is gain” (Phil 1:21).
